Validating disruptive healthcare solutions
We’re an incubator for healthcare innovations that supports entrepreneurs and startups looking to validate their value propositions.
We offer entrepreneurs and startups access to a real-world environment within a large academic healthcare system to validate their business models or clinical use cases, thereby increasing their success rates.
Incubator Participants
Incubator participants receive a combination of support, mentorship, insight, and amplification.
Partnership: Our team acts as a bridge, connecting innovators with patients, providers, clinicians, administrators, and more.
Mindset: Our multidimensional health system and skilled clinicians provide the perfect setting to explore innovative solutions and gain insights. As a teaching hospital, Regional One Health integrates education and research into its core mission.
Mentorship: We foster a “think tank” environment where innovators learn from top experts, benefiting from our experience treating the most critical patients.
Insight: By working within our health system, innovators can determine if and how their ideas add value and improve outcomes. They can finalize their prototype designs, which informs their go-to-market strategies, accelerates their scale-up periods, and increases their likelihood of success.
Community: Participants benefit from the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and some of the most advanced healthcare facilities in the nation.
Why Join Our Incubator
One of the many challenges startups, entrepreneurs, and inventors face is the inability to confirm their value proposition’s probability of success at any stage of growth, whether they are a fast-scaling company that has raised a Series A funds or individuals who are just getting started with their concept. The Healthcare Startup Access Incubator was developed to increase a startup’s survival rate after their launch. The program is design to help de-risk their innovations through a tailored scope of worked focused on the validation needs of each participant.
Access Incubator participants work with Regional One Health employees, physicians, processes, and business partners to help validate whether their product or service is feasible, viable, and desirable in today’s health care environment.
Startups cultivated through the Incubator are better able to raise capital and boost commercialization, which accelerates high-skill, high-wage job growth, creates economic opportunities, and contributes to Memphis’ thriving innovation ecosystem and beyond.

How Does it Work?
We work with highly motivated or individuals who are looking to validate their value proposition’s probability of success at any stage of growth, whether they are a fast-scaling company that has raised a Series A funds or individuals who are just getting started with their concept. The Center for Innovation acts as a liaison between the participant and health system to coordinate access to the resources each entrepreneur needs to take the next step in their innovation journey.
Each application to the Access Incubator is reviewed carefully, and qualified candidates take part in a thorough discovery and intake process to evaluate alignment, capability, and viability. If selected as a participant, we’ll start by jointly defining a scope of work to include access and activities based on your current development stage. This includes a project duration and scope value that reflects in-kind investment in the company in exchange for system access.
Then, it’s time to get to work! We’ll collaborate with you to ensure a meaningful experience that provides the insight and feedback you need to move forward with your specific goals, whether it be improving your prototype, adjusting your go-to-market strategy, scaling your product, etc.
